Dance for the Kids with my sponsor Rotary club, the Scottsdale Papago Rotary

Rotary and "Dance for the Kids!"

In September, my sponsoring Rotary club for the ambassadorial scholarship, the Scottsdale Papago Rotary club, threw a "Dance for the Kids!" fundraiser at an Arthur Murray dance studio to support the activities of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona and the charities supported by the Papago Rotary Foundation.

I tried to help out as much as possible to get to know some of the members of my club and what I discovered is how fortunate I am to have such wonderful people behind me for my upcoming year that begins this February 2008. I sat and worked the registration table with Tom, Carl and Beverly, and enjoyed the memorable moment of Tom's reaction when he was confused by the presence of my identical twin sister who came to volunteer. I admired all the hard work Donata and the rest of the committee did to make the event a success and had a great time watching Don and his wife take dancing lessons during the afternoon.

As my involvement in Rotary increases, my admiration for the organization does as well. It is an organization filled with generous hearts who are committed to the motto "service above self". I am honored to have the opportunity to be their goodwill ambassador this upcoming year in Montevideo, Uruguay.
